National Juried Exhibition, presented by the Women’s Caucus for Art at the Phoenix Gallery, New York City from September 4 to 28, 2013 with Jessica Porter, Owner, Porter Contemporary as juror. “Stories We Tell” is an exhibition that portrays the rich tradition of visual storytelling through women’s voices using visual narratives to make sense of our world and to share that understanding with others. The works range from the activist to abstract, with artwork that addresses aesthetic, political, and philosophical perspectives of stories that are political, contemporary interpretation of an ancient myths, or based on personal and family stories. Jessica Porter chose 45 works to be shown in the Phoenix Gallery and an additional 267 featured in the catalog.
